The broad scope of the information systems strategic planning process is to provide an organization-wide, comprehensive and detailed review of the customer's various processes, the customer's current information technology environment, and to recommend appropriate strategies and investments for the future. Strategic planning is a deliberate structural process of
assessing the role information technology needs to play in supporting the
organization's business functions, determining the resources and
infrastructure required, and projecting the schedule of events and costs
necessary to support that investment. Specific steps included in the life
cycle of strategic planning include: planning, analyzing, designing and
constructing, and implementing. |
